Namur is a French speaking city in the Wallonia portion of Belgium, 20 km north of Dinant. Wallonia has a moderate historic climate with less rainfall and colder winters than in the northern Flanders region of Belgium. Climate is similar to nearby Liege.
Namur has become the capital of Wallonia. The popular citadel and 13th century cathedral are popular tourist haunts, and the unique belfry is part of UNESCO's Belfries of Belgium and France World Heritage Site.
As with other travel destinations within Belgium, May through September is the best time to go to Namur. Snow is likely during winter months.
Wallonia weather is known to be rather changeable, so be prepared. Rain is frequent but wait a while and it'll probably change. You might think about bringing an umbrella and sweather (or planning to buy one in Namur the first day it rains).
