July and August are the most popular months to visit Bregenz. Because of the festival, tourists are advised to make lodging reservations well in advance. September is also becoming a very popular time to visit Bregenz.

Summers are quite pleasant, but expect rain; Bregenz expects to get precipitation on half the days in June and 13 days in July. Winters are cool and damp, but the variety of indoor cultural activities make it a reasonable place to go in the off season.
